Who Am I?

Hi there!

Hi. I’m so glad you’re here!

I’m Roni Loren, a Gallup® Certified Strengths Coach, a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC), and a New York Times bestselling romance author.

I know that’s a strange combo, but I’ve spent my life moving back and forth between my two passions—writing and counseling/coaching. I have a B.S. in Psychology and a Master of Social Work and was a therapist in my pre-author life, but I’ve found that coaching is the perfect fit for me. Whereas therapy often focuses on the past, diagnoses, and the why of it all to aid healing, coaching focuses on the now and on setting goals (or running experiments if you’re goal-averse) and forming habits/strategies to achieve the kind of future you dream of. It’s a partnership rather than a practitioner/patient dynamic, and I love that. I’m on your team!

I currently offer two types of coaching: Coaching for Writers and Health and Wellness coaching. Both are highly personalized because I use the Gallup CliftonStrengths® Assessment to identify your unique strengths and how they can help you tackle the obstacles and challenges you may be facing. Knowing your strengths can be an absolute game-changer.

We often genuinely want to feel better and know, in theory, what could help, but no matter how hard we try, we just cannot maintain any momentum to make lasting change. This is where Health & Wellness coaching can help.

Through personalized coaching (using your Strengths), I’ll work alongside you to uncover your values and motivations and help you to develop sustainable, doable ways to reach your goals. Or if goals freak you out, we’ll just run experiments!

You will be in charge here. We will go as quickly or as slowly as you need, and I have no agenda beyond partnering with you to uncover what might work well for you. (In other words, I’m not partial to any particular diet, supplement company, exercise method, etc. I’m not going to “prescribe” things. And you’re not going to be “in trouble” if something doesn’t work for you. We’ll simply explore why it didn’t work and what we can adjust to make it a better fit for you.)

Possible topics in this type of coaching: stress management, sleep, nutrition/weight management, healthy aging, exercise/movement, chronic illness, mindfulness/attention, financial health, time management, mental health, and more.

Note: I cannot diagnose physical/mental disorders or prescribe specific nutrition/exercise plans. I can provide research-backed resources and work with you to help you implement instructions from your doc, therapist, dietician, trainer, etc.
